My Crazy Mother & My Awesome Adventure

Ubud, Bali - September 23, 2012

Today was a crazy day.  It all started with a horse in bed ... should I say me in bed, but my throat sounded like a dead horse so my crazy mother took me to the spa.  Was the outfit really necessary?

She took me to a steam shower.  I was so hot.  I was almost as hot as my ginger tea. I'll tell you about that later.

Then we went to the healer.  The healer is a very smart man.  Many people from all over the world come to see him.  My sister went first and in five minutes just by touching her head he figured out that my sister has a weird type of  headaches.  The doctors have been looking at her for 11 years and have still no idea what she had, but he did it in 5 minutes.

Now it was my turn.  he looked at me and told me that my channels were clogged and that was why I was so fast.  Let me tell you what that means ... have you seen those big fancy wine Kiddush cups that have twelve little cups next to it and when it over flows the wine goes into the smaller cups?  What happens if one of those lines gets clogged?  That cup does not get wine.  It is the same with the body you have a whole block of energy if one of those blocks-channels gets clogged that spot does not get enough energy which causes the other hand to have more energy and that's why I am so fast.  So today he unclogged my channel.

Then we went to the Jalan Bird Park. It was so pretty. I saw many birds,  I also saw a big lizard kind of like Mr. Kipling.  I also got to hold  two very cute birds ... look for yourself.

After I got to stay with my awesome babysitter Wayan.  She is a very good artist and very smart and fun.  I played with her and then fell asleep.  I was in such a deep sleep that I did not hear one peep.  Then I started to almost cry because when I woke up Wayan was not there.

After that, we made offerings and I had the worst ginger tea ever. Worse than my cough.  I also watch and imitated a couple I saw doing yoga.

Finally, I went back to the hotel and started my hard homework and now I will go to sleep.

My First & Best Day in Bali

Ubud, Bali - September 22, 2012

Today was the best day in Ubud - that's a city in Bali.  Ubud has everything.  Let's start with the monkey forest.  The monkey forest is a forest that you walk through.  It's really cool.  There are many monkeys.

 

My family and I walked through the forest and a monkey climbed on my head and shoulder.  They are so cute.

We were walking and a monkey came and sat my lap.  He was tugging at my shirt and accidentally bit me on the belly.  It really hurt.  I at all did not care the monkeys are sweet animals.

Sometimes there also a little aggressive and scary looking.  Monkeys are also very cute when they eat.

Now, let me tell you about Balinese dancing.  It's very fun and difficult.  Balinese dancing is also different and calm like this.

  

Yoga was not my favorite.  It was really slow.  I wanted to fall asleep.  I am not really a calm girl - take a look..

Finally, we went to have tea and make offerings.  The tea was gross.  Offering were so much fun.  I made many.  They are so pretty.

Offering are what people give to the gods to honor them in Bali.  I made the offerings but I don't give them to the gods since I'm Jewish.  But it's fun to learn.

Camp Louise - June/July 2012

Well, it was a bummer … my mom told me I was going to Camp Louise.  Doesn't she know I get homesick?  And there are bugs, and the pool is like Antarctica, and I'm never going to Antarctica, cold ... but the first day I walked in to camp I saw a sign it said Camp Louise.  I remembered last year it said welcome.  I wondered what it will be next year, but right then my grandma Mimi showed up to help us unpack our luggage.

We live in Florida.  Camp is in Maryland.  That’s far. Well, after that I found my unit.  I'm in unit A, and I met my division head Erica, and my counselors - Jamie, Stacy and Emily.  They were awesome.  My bunk looked amazing.  My friend Kendall slept in the bed next to me.

Camp was fun fun fun. I did glass fusion, gymnastics, soccer, games, music, drama, canteen, volleyball, cooking, boxing, basketball, field hockey, tug a war, swimming, and ropes course!

So, let me tell you about some of those things, swimming was a blast.  I made it into blue water, but it was really cold, it was as cold as a freezer. 

And canteen was fun - we got candy, and the ropes course was such a blast.

Now let me tell you some places I went to.  I went to the creek, separation between Maryland and Pennsylvania.  And we went to an old bridge.  We also went kayaking, and I went to Adventure park.  I went on roller coasters, bumper boats and twirly world it was fun fun fun!  I also learned many new things like I learned how to make pizza, and how to catch a fire fly for the first time, but now it’ s more of a habit!  

I also made many new friends like Paige, Sammy, Shay, Ali, Zoe, Kendall, Jo, Haley, Allie, Ella and Callie!

I guess I was wrong camp was the best thing that I have ever done. I can't wait to go back!

Well I guess there's not really a way to describe camp but I can tell u I had a blast!!!

A:  Because the coral breaks and the little pieces of coral go on the sand to make it pink.

A:  There are lots, but I said grunt, cowfish, and white snapper.

Q:  Why is it important not to touch coral underwater?

A:  Because it is very sensitive and if you touch it, it dies.

Q: What is the difference between a sand dollar and a sea biscuit?

A:  I got this one wrong.  They are the similar but a sand dollar is flat like a pancake and a sea biscuit is big like a loaf of bread.  I knew that a sand dollar turns white when it dies.

Q:  On a yacht, can you find the galley, stateroom and head?

A:  The galley is the kitchen, the stateroom is the bedroom, and the head is the bathroom.

Tubing and Fishing Just Can't Be Better

Well today was a day the things we did in the day made it amazing.  You see first, we did our responsibilities and on and on.  But after, we went on the boat, Devon our old helper was not there to help us.  We had a new helper named Luther or in my mom's case Luca.

First we went fishing.  Two reasons I did not love it was because really in order to go fishing you have to be patient and be able to reel the fish in and I could do none of those things.  But finally I caught a fish.  It was a yellow Grunt.  It was so cute when I caught it,it grunted.  I actually got to hold it.  It smelled fishy and felt slimy. "EW" my mom said but I thought it was so cute.

At last, we went tubing. I was not so thrilled but on the other hand I did not know what tubing was.  Becky my friend said she went tubing at her grandma's place.  She said it was more fun if you went alone so I asked my mom can I please go by myself she said NO so I went with my sister.  When we got in the water, it was cold but I got used to it.

"WE" broom broom "faster faster" me and my sister yelled and we talked why it would be better to go with two people because you have someone to talk to.  But right when she was gonna finish, Luther went faster and I fell into the ocean and the boat left went with out me and no one noticed only my mom so she told my dad to come save me and I was on the boat again.  I prayed to thank that I was OK but I did have a great fall.  Today was really the best day ever.  I really wish I got to go tubing and fishing more often and you should to. I had a blast.  This adventure was great. I can't wait until our next adventure!!!
