Today was an amazing day. To think about it, every day is
amazing but this one was a day I will never forget. First we hopped in the
back of a car to go to Claudio Gallina's studio. Actually the man driving the
car was Claudio Gallina.
Mr. Gallina is a very famous artist. He
paints children in many of his pictures. He draws children because it reminds
him of when he was a child.
He makes the children very small so that the room
the child is in, in his painting will look bigger. The child is not so tall so
everything looks bigger. In most of his pictures when he uses people he uses
people he knows. He makes very joyful paintings of kids playing. He did have a
great childhood.
He always loved to draw and never knew he would be an artist.
Claudio became an artist by practicing. When he was little he used to draw for
money and after all those years of studying now he works with some of the most
famous artists in the world.
My favorite out of all his pictures is one were
there are to people standing on a bench imagining they are in the ocean with
alligators. He has a very creative mind.
He even made a desk and drew people on
it and stuck gum in the back. Many kids put gum on the back of there desk. He
have made so many more pictures but I think it would be better if you look at
these pictures.
When he was done showing us his paintings he said he would paint us in a picture too. We did a photo shoot until we found the perfect
picture. We also showed him pictures we drew our selves. He really liked them.
Claudio Gallina is a very good artist and a very nice man. I can not wait to
see him next time he comes to Miami to do an exhibit.
